Internships

Thank you for your interest in my office’s internship program.  Internships in my Washington, D.C. and District offices offer students an outstanding opportunity to learn about the legislative process firsthand while working side by side with experienced full-time staff.  On a typical day, Washington interns are responsible for attending hearings, assisting in legislative research and welcoming constituents to the Capitol.  District interns assist staff in research and gain valuable experience aiding in constituent outreach.

Full and part-time positions are available throughout the year to students currently enrolled in college.  Please note, internships for the summer are most competitive due to the volume of applications.

Internship Application Deadlines:

Summer Internship Application: March 14th

What Activities does an Intern Perform

Interns in the Washington, D.C. Office

Responsibilities include attending hearings, preparing legislative reports, researching specific issues and compiling information to respond to constituents inquiries, helping process the tour and flag requests, handling incoming mail and data entry, giving visiting constituents tours of the Capitol, and performing general office duties.

Interns in the West Chester, Troy, or Springfield District Office:

Interns in the District Offices concentrate on researching constituent inquiries for information and helping to deal with federal agencies. Some clerical work is also expected
