You Can’t Hide the #StickerShock from those Experiencing it Firsthand

As the president’s ObamaCare hype machine continues to make its rounds throughout Ohio and across the country–attempting to sell his disastrous health care law to the American people – Ohioans aren’t being fooled.  That’s because you can’t hide the sticker shock from the very people who are experiencing it firsthand:

  • Evan thought he was beyond the reach of ObamaCare because he works for a small business that contributes toward his purchase of insurance.  But, as he shared with our office, “This money used to be tax free … and now I must pay taxes on this money.  This has effectively increased my health care cost 30 percent.” (Evan, Covington, OH)
  • Average premiums will increase by 12 percent for individuals and 12 percent for small businesses in 2015 according to approved rates submitted by Ohio health insurance companies.” (Ohio Department of Insurance)
  • “A new survey finds that one-fifth of people with private plans still spend at least 5 percent of their income on out-of-pocket health care costs … The findings, from the research group The Commonwealth Fund, found that 21 percent of adults with health coverage spent 5 percent or more of their income on out-of-pocket costs — not including premiums — over the past year, and 13 percent spent 10 percent or more.” (Fox19, WXIX, Cincinnati)
  • “Cost of Coverage Under Affordable Care Act to Increase in 2015.  The Obama administration on Friday unveiled data showing that many Americans with health insurance bought under the Affordable Care Act could face substantial price increases next year — in some cases as much as 20 percent — unless they switch plans. … Experts said the wide swings in prices were likely to continue.” (The New York Times)

As Rep. Boehner said last week, when Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell’s visited Cincinnati to pitch ObamaCare to our local area, “The Obama administration can try all it wants to ‘sell’ ObamaCare to Ohioans, but the truth is that local businesses, families, and seniors – all of the people who make our area so great – have experienced the broken promises firsthand and recognize that ObamaCare is driving up their health care costs, hurting our economy, and making it harder for small businesses to hire.”

Many Ohioans are now receiving information about their 2015 ObamaCare premiums and health care costs.  Are your costs increasing?  We want to hear from you – CLICK HERE to share your story.
