Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, an estimated 3.4 million previously uninsured Californians now have health care coverage. As of October 16, 2014, 1.12 million people have coverage from a Covered California qualified health plan.

Open Enrollment is HAPPENING NOW

Open enrollment for 2015 health insurance plans through Covered California began on November 15, 2014, and ends February 15, 2015. For those who shopped on the marketplace last year, keep in mind that this is half as long as the first enrollment period! To apply, visit www.coveredca.com

Remember, if you like your current plan, AND your personal information has not changed (i.e. income stayed constant, no marriages, or childbirths, etc.), AND when you first enrolled last year you selected the option allowing Covered CA to automatically check your income for between 1-5 years, in most cases you will be AUTOMATICALLY reenrolled in your current plan with coverage starting January 1, 2015. However, I encourage you to check out Covered California’s website to shop around because it’s likely you’ll be able to find a better deal!

Also, if you want your coverage to start on January 1, 2015, the LAST day you can sign up for new coverage is December 15, 2014. Don’t wait until the last minute to #GetCovered!

If you you have questions, visit www.coveredca.com/get-help or call the Covered CA Service Center at 1-800-300-1506, Mon. – Fri. from 8AM to 8PM Pacific and Sat. from 8AM to 6PM Pacific.

You can also call my District Office at 650-342-0300 Mon. – Fri. from 9AM to 6PM Pacific.
