Ellmers Statement on March for Life

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Renee Ellmers released the following statement from her office in Washington this afternoon:

"Protecting life is a mission that is very near and dear to my heart. As a nurse for over 21 years, I have witnessed firsthand how fragile and delicate our lives are and the miracles that take place every day. I’ve held the hands of newborn infants and I’ve held the hands of elderly patients in the last moments of their lives. I have been blessed to have had such special moments, and through them, I have gained the wisdom of knowing that every life is a precious gift from God."

"As thousands of Americans descend upon Washington today, they remind us all of our duty as children of God to protect life and be stewards of His creation. This year will mark the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, and while I am thoroughly against this decision and believe it should be overturned, it is still the law of the land. That is why the March for Life is so important. It serves as a powerful reminder of the injustice taking place in our country and the millions of lives lost but not forgotten."

"I'm proud to join in this mission with you in Congress as we continue to promote and protect God's greatest gift - the gift of life."
