KTBS: Landrieu's Provision Holds VA Officials Accountable

U.S. Senators Mary L. Landrieu, D-La., and Jerry Moran, R-Kan., successfully added an amendment to the bill that funds Military Construction and Veterans Affairs for fiscal year 2015 that provides the Secretary of Veterans Affairs greater authority to fire or demote senior officials for reported mismanagement at VA hospitals across the country. The bill will also freeze bonuses for senior executives until the VA produces a plan to eliminate the current backlog and waiting lists.
