KARD: Landrieu Leads Team in Securing Ferriday Water Treatment Plant
No community in America should have to wait this long for clean drinking water. I’m happy to be a part of the leadership team that has secured the $5 million in federal funding to build a new water treatment plant and provide clean water for the people of Ferriday.
The town of Ferriday has been held back, not because the people are not willing to work hard – we have farmers here growing the best crops in the world, small businesses are working hard, you have great engineers, and a great river. But how do you develop an economic future for a town without access to clean water? It’s about as basic as you can get.
I was proud to attend the groundbreaking of Ferriday’s new water treatment plant and commend our team of leaders that helped secure this new facility. I’ll continue to work on behalf of all Louisianians and build sustainable communities for generations to come.
