Sen. Joe Donnelly, D-Ind., has baseball bragging rights for another year over Rep. Marlin Stutzman, R-3rd.

The Democrats defeated the Republicans 15-6 Wednesday night in the annual Roll Call Congressional Baseball Game for Charity at Nationals Park in Washington. It was the Democrats’ sixth straight victory and evened the yearly series between the political parties at 38 wins each, plus a tie.

Donnelly played first base most of the game for the Democrats and had two hits, according to his office.

Stutzman, the GOP’s starting pitcher, walked the first three batters he faced in the first inning and then hit a batter with a pitch to force in a run, according to mlb.com. The Republicans gave up two more runs in the inning on an error and a steal of home plate by Rep. Cedric Richmond, D-La.

The Republicans yanked Stutzman after he walked in another run in the second inning, mlb.com reported.

The contest was ended in the seventh inning because of thunderstorms.
