Please note: Many of these Capitol Hill buildings are working office buildings. Availability and hours are subject to change, due to special events or other considerations.


Visitor Hours for the Buildings on Capitol Hill.

Capitol Visitor Center

Monday – Saturday
8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Closed Sundays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Inauguration Day.

Tours of the U.S. Capitol:
Monday – Saturday
8:50 a.m. – 3:20 p.m.

Visitors with official business appointments may enter the visitor center as early as 7:15 a.m.

U.S. Botanic Garden

Conservatory:
Open 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily, including all weekends and holidays.

National Garden:
Open 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily, including all weekends and holidays.

Bartholdi Park:
Open dawn to dusk, daily, including all weekends and holidays.

Congressional Office Buildings

House Office Buildings (Cannon, Longworth, Rayburn, Ford):
Open 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Senate Office Buildings (Russell, Dirksen, Hart):
Open to the public Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Library of Congress Buildings

All buildings are closed to the public on Sundays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. The Madison and Adams buildings are closed all other federal holidays.

Thomas Jefferson Building:
Monday – Saturday
8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

James Madison Memorial Madison Building:
Monday – Friday
8:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Entry after 6 p.m. is reserved for researchers, staff, and those attending special programs.

Saturday
8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

John Adams Building:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
8:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
