The Nation's Stage

The U.S. Capitol serves as the nation’s stage, hosting annual events such concerts and the Capitol Christmas Tree.

Additionally, the Capitol hosts Presidential Inaugurations every four years and is the location for many ceremonies such as the lying in state of honored citizens. The Capitol Building hosts hundreds of other events annually including rallies, protests and other gatherings that demonstrate the Constitutions First Amendment in practice.
