The Honorable Donna F. Edwards
NOAA Proposes Furloughs
April 15, 2013

Mr. Speaker, I had planned to come to the floor this evening, as we do every Monday, to talk about the importance of climate change and the importance of this country addressing an issue that is so critical in front of us.

But it seems tonight that it’s actually quite more appropriate to offer my sincere condolences to the people of Boston, Massachusetts, but most especially to those who’ve been injured and lost their lives and to their families, and to offer up from the Fourth Congressional District and from all of us as Americans, that we stand united behind this city in its efforts to bring those who committed this great harm to justice, but also to stand with the families of first responders and all of those who are called to action.
