Homeowner Assistance Resources

If you face the risk of foreclosure, or are currently behind on your mortgage payments, there are resources available to help you stay in your home.  I encourage you to contact your lender as soon as you anticipate difficulty making your mortgage payments, and/or use the government resources explained below for assistance.  Please don’t hesitate to contact my office for help.

The HOPE NOW Alliance

The HOPE NOW Alliance is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help those who are struggling to keep up with their mortgage payments.

By calling 888-995-HOPE, you can receive personal, confidential counseling about your particular housing concerns.  HOPE NOW provides this service completely free of charge.  Your call will go straight to a professional counselor who will work on possible solutions, such as refinancing into a new mortgage, moving into an FHASecure-insured loan, or freezing your current interest rates for five years.

Also, by calling the HOPE NOW hotline, you can receive free, in-person expert foreclosure prevention and financial counseling services at local agencies approved by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

FHASecure Program:

If your interest rate is already too high, or if you have a non-FHA adjustable rate mortgage (ARM), have good credit and have been making timely payments before your loan reset, but are now in default, call 1-800-CALL-FHA.  FHASecure is a refinancing option that can give you a second chance to refinance into an FHA-insured loan product.  An FHA-insured mortgage will result in lower monthly mortgage payments.
