Republicans At Odds With The Facts On Domestic Oil Production
Claim: Republicans claim that oil production on federal lands has declined.
Fact: Oil and gas production on federal lands has increased under President Obama.
The Energy Information Administration (EIA) confirms that oil production from federal lands has been higher each year of the Obama Administration than any of the last three years of the Bush administration. In fact, total oil production from federal lands has increased by 12% under the Obama Administration. And in every single year of the Obama administration, oil production has been higher than any of the last three years of the Bush administration.
Instead of continuing to make false claims about President Obama's energy record, Republicans should work with Democrats to end wasteful tax giveaways to oil companies and advance an all-of-the-above energy strategy to give middle class families and American business more affordable energy options.
