What's Changed In The Last Twelve Hours?

MOMENTS AGO ON THE SENATE FLOOR SENATOR MCCONNELL OBJECTED TO A REQUEST TO VOTE ON THE HOUSE GOP’S BILL?

Dec 14, 2011

Moments Ago on the Senate Floor Senator McConnell Objected to A Request to Vote on the House GOP's Bill...

But That isn't What He Said Yesterday Afternoon...

McConnell: "So I think the first thing we need to find out is whether there are the votes in the Senate to pass what the House has passed. And so I'd rather not speculate about what happens later. I'm hoping and we're spending our time and energy trying to get this bill passed in the Senate, as well as in the House."  [McConnell Remarks GOP Stakeout, 12/13/11]

Or Yesterday Morning...

McConnell: "So I would suggest that our friends put the political  games aside and give the American people the certainty and the jobs that they deserve. Take up the house bill, pass it right here in the senate, and send it to the president for a signature without theatrics and without delay."  [McConnell Floor Speech, 12/13/11]

Or Monday...

McConnell: "My suggestion is that once this legislation comes over from the House, we pass it without delay."  [McConnell Floor Speech, 12/12/11]

SO WHY ARE SENATE REPUBLICANS PREVENTING US FROM VOTING ON THE HOUSE REPUBLICAN BILL?
