Rep. Edwards hosted her Annual College and Career Fair this past Saturday at the Prince George’s County Sports and Learning Complex.  This is the 4th consecutive year Congresswoman Edwards has hosted a college fair, and this year proved to be the best yet, with over 1,900 attendees. Students and parents received information from a wide range of 180 different organizations,  including colleges, career schools, businesses, nonprofits, associations, unions, federal agencies, and even a walking, talking robot provided by Lockheed Martin.  And, for the first time, several students received on-the-spot admissions and financial aid.

“It was wonderful to see that this year’s event was so successful and well attended,” said Rep. Edwards.  “There is no question that a quality education is the most important ingredient to long-term success.  With the costs and competition of secondary education increasing with each year, it was encouraging to see so many students begin the process; especially middle-school students who were determined to get an early start.  I want to thank all of the organizations and their representatives who gave their time to attend this event.”
