"Over the course of the last eight months as I've gotten to know his mom Jill, she's continued to express gratitude to the people of the metro area for their out pouring of support.

“While the judge in Mexico recognized Andrew’s current state, he never should have been in jail in Mexico for inadvertently carrying legally-owned firearms over the border. The 911 tape of Andrew at the scene is proof that Andrew made an honest mistake. I’m disappointed that this administration left this Marine to fend for himself and refused to negotiate his release with a friendly neighbor and ally while at the same time, negotiated with terrorists for the release of another soldier.

“I’m pleased that Andrew will soon be on his way home to be reunited with his mom and will finally receive the treatment he needs as he battles PTSD. I look forward to welcoming him to Omaha upon his recovery.”
