    Member; 1997-
    Appointed by Senator Lott to 17-member bipartisan commission to examine policy changes facing the Medicare program. Other appointments were made by Speaker Gingrich and President Clinton. The Commission is chaired by Senator John Breaux and is to issue its report by March, 1999.
