WASHINGTON (July 17) -- The Restructuring Task
Force of the National Bipartisan Commission on the Future of Medicare will meet on
Tuesday, July 21, in Washington, D.C., Sen. John Breaux (D-La.) and Rep. Bill Thomas
(R-Calif.) announced today. The task force meeting is open to the public, and the
members will discuss the Federal Employees Health Benefits Plan (FEHBP). Details about the

Speakers:
Stuart Butler, Ph.D., director of domestic and economic policy studies, and Robert
Moffit, Ph.D., director of domestic policy, both of the Heritage Foundation; David
Kendall, senior analyst for health policy, the Progressive Policy Institute; and Ed Flynn,
associate director of retirement and insurance service, U.S. Office of Personnel
Management.
The Restructuring Task Force is examining ways to structure Medicare and is one of
three task forces established by the 17-member bipartisan Commission to study various
aspects of Medicare. The task forces will present their findings and analyses later to the
full Commission.
