Congresswoman Jackie Speier (D-CA), Ranking Member of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, tonight released the following statement in response to the killing of al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden.

“Nearly ten years after Osama Bin Laden spearheaded the worst terrorist attack in our nation's history, he has finally been brought to justice. This is a moment to remember those lost in that horrific attack and their families who can finally experience some closure. I would also like to thank the U.S. personnel responsible for Bin Laden’s demise. The President, our military, and the intelligence community have proven once again why the United States is the greatest country in the world.”
