Hinds
Hinds County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi. It is part of the Jackson, Mississippi Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of 2010, the population was 245,285. Its county seats are Jackson and Raymond. Hinds County is named for General Thomas Hinds, hero of Battle of New Orleans.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 877 square miles of which 869 square miles is land and 8 square miles is water.
