Bolivar

Located in the heart of the Mississippi Delta, Bolivar County was established by the MS Legislature Feb. 9, 1836 and named for famed South American Liberator, Simon Bolivar. As of 2010, the population was 34,145. It is named in honor of Simón Bolívar, leader of the liberation of several South American countries from Spain in the early 19th century. Its county seats are Rosedale and Cleveland.
