Academy Nominations

U.S. Service Academy Nominations

As a Member of Congress, I have the privilege of nominating students for appointment to the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, does not require a congressional nomination for appointment. In addition, the men and women who attend our service academies receive a top-notch education while preparing for careers of military service and beyond.

Applications are no longer being accepted as of Friday, October 31^st, 2014. If you plan to apply in the future, know that you'll be asked to providethe following elements to my successor, Congresswoman-Elect Kathleen Rice, after her office opens on January 3^rd.

• An official transcript from all high schools, junior colleges, or colleges you have attended; this transcript must show your final junior year grades
• SAT and/or ACT Scores -- use SAT code 0643 or ACT code 7547 to send your scores directly to my office
• An essay stating why you want to attend a service academy (200-300 words)
• Minimum of three (3) letters of recommendation from non-family members

You will submit these elements to my successor. After the election on Tuesday, November 4^th, check back to this site to learn who that will be.
