The leadership of the Blue Dog Coalition issued the following statement today in response to the release of the Republican budget proposal:

“The Blue Dogs have always advocated for a big, bold, bipartisan budget proposal that tackles deficit spending in a real and balanced way, and sets our nation on a course toward greater economic prosperity for all. As such, we were frustrated yet again by the Republican budget presented by Chairman Ryan, which is nothing more than an unrealistic, partisan plan masquerading as a serious proposal. Congress has wasted enough time voting on political gimmicks that purport to address our country’s fiscal challenges, all the while continuing to saddle future generations with an unpayable debt and fiscally insolvent entitlement programs. Not only do Americans deserve better, but they need something better, and soon.”
