The Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Program began in 1984 and supports grants to state governments and institutes of higher learning to improve pediatric emergency care.  The bill reauthorizes the EMSC Program through FY 2019.  S. 2154, the Emergency Medical Services for Children Reauthorization Act of 2014, is the Senate companion legislation for H.R. 4290, which passed the House on September 9, 2014.  
 
S. 2154 passed the Senate on September 10, 2014, and the House on September 16, 2014 by a roll call vote of 410-4. President Obama signed the bill into law on September 26, 2014.
