H.R. 5534, the "Assistance, Quality, and Affordability Act of 2014"

Rep. Paul D. Tonko, Ranking Member of the Environment and the Economy Subcommittee, and Rep. Henry A. Waxman, Ranking Member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, introduced H.R. 5534, the Assistance, Quality and Affordability Act of 2014, to reauthorize and increase funding for the drinking water state revolving fund (SRF) established by the 1996 amendments to the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA).  H.R. 5534 will increase assistance for states, water systems, and disadvantaged communities; encourage good financial and environmental management of water systems; and strengthen the Environmental Protection Agency’s ability to enforce SDWA requirements.
