May 15, 2013 On April 9, 2013, Ranking Members Henry A. Waxman and Frank Pallone joined Chairmen Fred Upton, John Shimkus, and other Republicans to introduce H.R. 1407. The bill reauthorizes both the Animal Drug User Fee Act (ADUFA) and Animal Generic Drug User Fee Act (AGDUFA) through Fiscal Year 2018. Congress originally enacted ADUFA and AGDUFA to expedite the approval process for new animal drugs, reduce the application backlog, and improve communications with drug sponsors.
