WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield, (KY-01), Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Energy and Power, released the following statement following passage of H.R. 5759, The Preventing Executive Overreach on Immigration Act in the House of Representatives today:
“President Obama’s unilateral action to provide amnesty to illegal immigrants undermines the very fiber of America and our Constitution. Only the Congress has the power to write laws and the President has an obligation to enforce them.
WASHINGTON, D.C. –U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield (KY-01), Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Energy and Power, voted today in support of H.R. 3979, The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2015 (NDAA) which is critical for our troops at Fort Campbell, and for the local economy. The measure passed the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 300 to 119.
WASHINGTON, D.C. –U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield (KY-01), Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Energy and Power, voted today in support of H.R. 647, the Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act, which aims to lift the burden individuals with disabilities face when trying to work and save money . The measure allows for the creation of tax-free savings accounts for those who live with certain disabilities and it passed the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 404 to 17. The ABLE Act will now be sent the United States Senate for consideration.
