  • Tonko Statement on Social Security COLA

    10/22/14

    ALBANY – Congressman Paul Tonko (D-NY) today slammed an announcement from the Social Security Administration (SSA) that the annual cost of living adjustment (COLA) for more than 70 million Social Security beneficiaries – most of them senior citizens – would be a meager 1.7 percent. The announcement marks the third consecutive year in which the increase was less than 2 percent.

    SCHENECTADY – U.S. Senators Charles E. Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand and Congressman Paul Tonko today announced that the City of Schenectady will receive $3,207,442 in funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to develop viable urban communities, support housing and a suitable living environment for low- and moderate-income individuals, and improve the number, quality and operations of emergency shelters for homeless individuals and families.
