A Message from Congressman Cook: It's Time to Secure Our Borders
The message in this last election was clear: the American people want the president and Congress to work together to secure our borders. Unfortunately, this appears to have fallen on deaf ears with President Obama. He could have asked Congress to take up this issue during the “lame duck” session, or he could have waited until January when the new Congress was sworn in.
WASHINGTON – Rep. Paul Cook (R-Apple Valley) responded to the announcement that U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel will step down. Hagel has served as Secretary of Defense for nearly two years.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Paul Cook (R-Apple Valley) joined Rep. Paul Gosar (R- AZ) in introducing legislation to create a new program to reward American allies in the Global War on Terror. This program will provide a $5,000,000 cash reward to individuals providing information leading to the capture of any person involved with the kidnapping and murder of American citizens.

Last month, President Barack Obama declared, “I’m not on the ballot this year… but make no mistake, [my] policies are on the ballot. Every single one of them.”
Our government must honor its commitment to make sure service members are never left behind. That includes making sure they get treatment for mental disorders caused by the trauma of war.
September 11 taught us that we can no longer ignore the threats of foreign terrorists who declare war on America.
