Miami, Florida – Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) issued the following statement after press reports indicate that three prominent Cuban political prisoners have been sent to maximum security facilities for their peaceful protests against the Castro dictatorship. The three pro democracy activists, Ivonne Malleza Galano, Isabel Hayde Alvarez Mosqueda and Ignacio Martinez Montero, have staged highly publicized protests against the regime that have brought international condemnation and embarrassed the Castro brothers in their attempts to portray an image of a changing and more flexible dictatorship.
