Thompson Annonces an Increase in FEMA Grant Funding to Mississippi

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congressman Bennie G. Thompson (MS-02) is pleased to announce Mississippi will receive $4.58 million from a FEMA Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG).

“I am pleased that FEMA has increased its investment in the lives of Mississippians and support of our state’s emergency preparedness system. The primary job of the federal government is to provide and deliver a safety net. Today’s EMPG grant is provides and delivers the safety net. I am proud of FEMA’s investment in Mississippi and will continue to advocate for FEMA’s continued support,” said Congressman Thompson.

This year, FEMA’s Emergency Management Performance Grant provides the State of Mississippi with $4.58 million. Last year, Mississippi received $4.37 million. Congressman Thompson is the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Homeland Security which oversees FEMA.
