CONGRESSMAN THOMPSON ANNOUNCES $75,515 AWARDED TO MISSISSIPPI DELTA COUNCIL FOR FARM WORKER OPPORTUNITIES, INC.

BOLTON, MISSISSIPPI – Today, United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) announced The United States Department of Agriculture has awarded $75,515 through the Farmers Market Promotion Program to Mississippi Delta Council for Farm Worker Opportunities, Inc. in Clarksdale, Mississippi.

The funds will be used to aid small and limited resource farmers and food desert residents by establishing a Farmers’ market and a family farm business center, and organizing and promoting community healthy food events.
