Congressman Thompson ANNOUNCES $1,000,000 awarded to The Mississippi Department of Transportation
BOLTON, MISSISSIPPI – Today,
United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) announced The United
States Department of Transportation has awarded $1,000,000 to the
Mississippi Department of Transportation for the Mill Street Bridge project on Woodrow Wilson Avenue in Jackson,
Mississippi.
The Transportation, Community,
and System Preservation Program (SAFETEA-LU Section 1117) provides funding for
a comprehensive initiative including planning grants, implementation grants,
and research to investigate and address the relationship among transportation,
community, and system preservation plans and practices and identify private
sector-based initiatives to improve those relationships.
