CONGRESSMAN THOMPSON NOMINATES CLEVELAND YOUTH TO AIR FORCE AND MERCHANT MARINE ACADEMIES

 

BOLTON, MISSISSIPPI – Mr. Moshiu Knox has been nominated by United States Congressman Bennie G. Thompson to the United States Air Force, Military (West Point) and Merchant Marine Academies.  Mr. Knox is scheduled to graduate from East Side High School, Cleveland, Mississippi in May 2012.

At East Side High School Moshiu is a member of the National Honor Society, serves on the Student Council as Senior Class Representative, and currently holds the title of “Mr. East Side”. He is a member of the East Side Chorus; member of the Varsity Basketball Team, Varsity Track Team, and Varsity Football Team. Moshiu is also a Scholastic Team member, member of the Spanish Club, and is a Peer Tutor at East Side.  In addition to these activities he is the Captain of the Varsity Cheerleader Squad, President of the French Club, and Editor of the School Newspaper. 

Mr. Knox served as a 2011 Boy State Senator and has received numerous academic, community, sports, and achievement awards.

Moshiu is the son of Pastor Moshiu and Mrs. Cynthia Knox of Renova, Mississippi.
