          Congressman Thompson Announces $142,880 in Economic Development Funds to Mississippi State University

BOLTON, MISSISSIPPI – Today, United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) announced The United States Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration has awarded an investment award in the amount of $142,880 to Mississippi State University.

This EDA investment funds the third year of a three-year University Center program at Mississippi State University. The program provides technical assistance, research and development tools to increase productivity, spur innovation, and promote entrepreneurship to help increase long-term regional competitiveness and economic diversification.

EDA's University Center program is a competitively-based partnership between EDA and academic institutions that makes the varied and vast resources of universities available to the economic development practitioner community.
