Why: During the 111th Congress, Congressman Bennie G. Thompson sponsored H.R. 3562, a bill to designate the building located at 1220 Echelon Parkway in Jackson, Mississippi as the James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, Michael Schwerner, and Roy K. Moore Federal Building. The bill was unanimously passed by the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate and was subsequently signed into law by President Barack Obama on September 30, 2010. The building is currently occupied by the Federal Bureau of Investigations
