NEW HAVEN, CT—Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) released the following statement today celebrating Women’s Equality Day:

“Today is a day for celebration, as we recognize the strides women have made in all walks of life--from business to education to politics. But our work is not done. Women, and their families, still face tremendous economic pressures. Women earn an average of just 77 cents for every dollar a man does, are less likely than men to have paid sick days to take care of themselves or their family and disproportionately bear the burden of finding quality, affordable child care. On Women’s Equality Day, I renew my pledge to keep fighting for laws that help America’s women. Because when women succeed, America succeeds.”
