Rothfus Votes to Empower Families: House Passes the ABLE Act

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Keith Rothfus [PA-12] released the following statement after voting for H.R. 677, the Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act:

“Yesterday the House passed bipartisan legislation to improve the lives of people with disabilities and their families,” said Rothfus.  “Just as families save for retirement or college tuition, families of children with disabilities should be able to save to future related expenses.  This bill allows just that by creating tax-exempt ABLE accounts for disabled individuals and their families to save money and plan for the future.

“The ABLE Act has truly been a bipartisan effort.  I am proud to support the bill, and the families in Western Pennsylvania and across the country who will benefit from it.”

H.R. 367 passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 404-17.  Click here for more information.
