Today, Congressman Peter Roskam (IL-06) released the following statement after a measure seeking transparency on the Iran nuclear negotiations he co-authored with Congresswoman Jackie Walorski (R-IN) was included in the final 2015 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which the House unanimously passed today. The Roskam-Walorski measure requires the Obama administration to report to Congress on Iran’s compliance with ongoing nuclear negotiations and the overall state of its nuclear program. The 2015 NDAA is expected to pass the Senate and be signed into law by President Obama before the end of the year.

Bipartisan Legislation Will Help Americans with Disabilities Save for the Future
Yesterday, Congressman Peter Roskam (IL-06) spoke on the House floor in support of H.R. 647, the Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act, which allows disabled Americans to create tax-free saving accounts to help these individuals and their families save for the future. The legislation passed the House 404-17 and will now be considered by the Senate for final passage.

Legislation Includes Roskam-Carney Bipartisan, Bicameral PRIME Act
Today, Congressman Peter Roskam (R-IL) and Congressman John Carney (D-DE), praised introduction of the Protecting Integrity in Medicare Act of 2014 (PIMA), a Ways and Means bill aimed at combating waste, fraud and abuse in Medicare. PIMA, which was first released as a discussion draft this summer, includes the Roskam-Carney Preventing and Reducing Improper Medicare and Medicaid Expenditures (PRIME) Act of 2013.

Bipartisan, Bicameral Legislation Aims to Combat Medicare Fraud
Today, U.S. Representatives Peter Roskam (R-IL) and Ted Deutch (D-FL) introduced the Stop Schemes and Crimes Against Medicare and Seniors Act (Stop SCAMS Act) of 2014. The bipartisan bill seeks to prevent Medicare fraud by requiring the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to verify that a provider enrolling in the program does not have a record of defrauding Medicare in a previous practice.
