Vice Chairman Price Statement on Budget Rollout

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Committee on the Budget Vice Chairman Tom Price, M.D. (GA-06), praised the release of the FY2015 budget resolution “The Path to Prosperity,” saying:

“Today, we are proud to offer our federal budget proposal, the 'Path to Prosperity.' Our plan demonstrates our priorities – balancing our federal budget in a decade, cutting spending, paying off our national debt, saving and strengthening vital health and retirement programs, repairing America's 'safety net' programs, reforming the tax code and putting an end to corporate welfare, cronyism and waste.

"House Republicans are committed to policies that correct our haphazard fiscal course, foster economic growth, spur job creation, safeguard national security, harness domestic energy, restore patient-centered health care and eliminate poverty. We can accomplish all of these without taking more from hardworking American families to spend more in Washington.

"While Republicans boldly address the pressing matters facing our nation, the White House has punted by proposing an unserious budget that merely spends more, taxes more and grows government more. Senate Democrats, on the other hand, have chosen to do nothing. For the fifth of six years in a row, the Democrat-controlled Senate won't propose, debate or vote on a budget proposal as our country contends with crippling unemployment, stagnant economic growth and fiscal disarray.

"Republicans look forward to a robust debate on our nation's fiscal and economic priorities."
