WASHINGTON – Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Johnson (D-SD) released the below statement on the Senate voting to confirm three U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) members: Chairman Timothy Massad, Commissioner J. Christopher Giancarlo and Commissioner Sharon Bowen.
“I would like to congratulate Tim Massad, Sharon Bowen and Chris Giancarlo on being confirmed today by the Senate to serve on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and I am glad the CFTC once again has a full set of Commissioners. I thank Acting CFTC Chairman Wetjen for his thoughtful stewardship of the CFTC over the last few months, and I look forward to working with Chairman Massad and the rest of the Commission on the CFTC’s continued implementation of Wall Street Reform and work to strengthen the integrity of our financial markets.”
