Congressman Gardner Honored with Friend of Farm Bureau Award

Longmont, CO – Today, Congressman Cory Gardner (CO-04) was presented with the Friend of Farm Bureau Award at a local Longmont farm. This award, which is given out by the American Farm Bureau, seeks to recognize legislators who have done exemplary work promoting the interests of farmers and ranchers.

“Colorado’s farmers and ranchers work tirelessly to provide for the rest of us,” said Gardner. “Not everyone in Congress understands the impacts that burdensome and unnecessary regulations have on farmers and ranchers, which is why it is so important to focus on educating those who are not familiar with the agriculture industry. I am honored to receive the Friend of Farm Bureau award, and will continue fight for the interests of farmers and ranchers in Colorado.”

“Rep. Cory Gardner understands the challenges Colorado farmers and ranchers face. He recognizes the importance of protecting private property rights and meaningful tax reform so farms and ranches are passed from one generation to the next,” stated Don Shawcroft, President of Colorado Farm Bureau. “Rep. Gardner has always listened to our concerns and ensured that our voice is carried to Washington D.C.”

Congressman Gardner first earned the “Friend of Farm Bureau” Award in 2006 as member of the Colorado State Legislature.  He has received it every year since and continues to promote the interests of farmers and ranchers through his work in Congress. Congressman Gardner has also received the Colorado Farm Bureau Pinnacle Award, which is the organization’s highest honor.
