Internships

In both my Washington DC office as well as my office in Lacey, internships run throughout the fall, spring and summer. Although all internships are unpaid, students gain invaluable work experience and my office is happy to assist interns who qualify for academic credit. The hours are flexible to accommodate hectic schedules, but generally run from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Washington, DC

In Washington DC, interns’ responsibilities will include helping staff with correspondence and research, leading tours of the U.S. Capitol, as well as greeting guests, answering phones, and assisting with other front-office duties. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a congressional office.

If you would like more information on Congressional Internships in DC or would like to apply for an internship, please send Paige Langer a copy of your resume, cover letter, and work availability at Paige.Langer@mail.house.gov.

Washington State (Lacey, WA)

In my Washington State District office, interns may perform a variety of duties, including general office work such as answering phones, greeting constituents and visitors, and writing letters.  In addition, interns may be assigned to assist constituents on personal matters involving federal agencies (case work) or to work on District-based projects.
