Dems Write McCaul on Abu Dhabi Preclearance Legislation


January 13, 2014 (WASHINGTON) – Today, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), Ranking Member of the Committee on Homeland Security, along with Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), Ranking Member of the Committee’s Border & Maritime Security Subcommittee, and Rep. Cedric L. Richmond (D-LA), Ranking Member of the Committee’s Transportation Security Subcommittee, sent a letter to Rep. Michael T. McCaul, Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security, expressing concern about the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) plan to commence preclearance operations in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates later this month and urging him to mark up legislation on this matter.
