Mr. Speaker, I rise today in support of the U.S. Israel Strategic Partnership Act to designate our Israeli ally as a “major strategic partner” of the United States.
To the casual observer, it seems that Israel is nothing more than a war zone. The only time Israel appears to be discussed in the news is when something bad happens. A Palestinian terrorist attacks worshipers at a synagogue in Jerusalem. Peace negotiations break down. War in Gaza.

“The horrific attack this morning that killed four Israeli civilians in a house of worship is appalling. My thoughts are with the families of the victims, as well as those still mourning the deaths of Israeli civilians killed in several recent acts of terror. I join with leaders around the world in condemning this attack in the strongest possible terms.”

We reflect on the heroism of the firefighters, police officers, and all first responders who died in the line of duty while trying to save others, and honor the brave men and women in uniform who continue to work each day to keep us safe.

Washington DC – Congresswoman Lois Frankel issued the following statement in regards to the passage of the bi-partisan H.J.Res 76 to provide $225 million in immediate emergency funding to replenish Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system.
“This funding is crucial to the defense of Israeli citizens from Hamas terrorism. It is a testament to the United States’ long standing and deep friendship with Israel,” said Frankel.
Washington DC – Today, Representative Lois Frankel reiterated her support for Israel as the country defends itself against Hamas’ vast underground tunnel network.
“No nation can accept the perpetual threat of terrorists launching attacks and kidnappings from underground tunnels,” Frankel said. “It’s shocking to learn that Hamas has spent upwards of $100 million on these tunnels at the expense of Palestinians in Gaza. The Hamas leadership has once again shown that it cares more about killing Israelis than it does about helping Palestinians.”
