Washington, DC – Congresswoman Lois Frankel joined House colleagues to pass bipartisan flood insurance legislation that provides important flood insurance rate relief to homeowners and brings accountability to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

“I am pleased that the House has reached a reasonable compromise to end unaffordable flood insurance rate hikes and to protect homeowners and prospective homebuyers in Florida and other flood-prone states,” said Congresswoman Frankel.

Washington, DC—Congresswoman Lois Frankel today called on the House to consider the bipartisan bill the Senate passed last week to delay flood insurance premium rate hikes by four years for homeowners.

Frankel joined colleagues in supporting a procedural vote that would have allowed Democrats to bring the Senate legislation to the floor. The measure failed.

Washington, DC—The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has granted a request from U.S. Representatives Ted Deutch (FL-21), Lois Frankel (FL-22), Alcee L. Hastings (FL-20), and Patrick Murphy (FL-18) to give Palm Beach County officials time beyond the November 30th deadline to submit comments and technical data on flood map proposals for the region.

Washington, DC — Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-22) welcomed news that the Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded grants to United Way of Broward in Fort Lauderdale and Faith, Hope, Love, Charity, Inc. (Stand Down House) in Palm Springs.  Both of these community organizations serve homeless and at-risk veterans as well as their families in South Florida

United Way of Broward received a $2 million grant and Faith, Hope, Love, Charity, Inc. got an award of $972, 400. These grants will go toward helping veterans and their families find or remain in their homes.
