Fort Lauderdale, FL — Congresswoman Lois Frankel, Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Congressman Ted Deutch and Congresswoman Frederica Wilson held a press conference at Port Everglades to talk about the widely-supported expansion of Port Everglades, and how the recently passed bipartisan Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA) effects the project.
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Lois Frankel voted today for the bipartisan Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA). The measure overwhelmingly passed the House by a vote of 412 to 4 and will now go to the Senate for approval.
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Lois Frankel issued the following statement on the filing of the bipartisan Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA) conference report. It is expected to be voted on in the House as early as Tuesday.
"I’m excited to see this bill finally come to the floor next week. It means improved water quality and more jobs for South Florida," said Frankel.
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Lois Frankel signed the bipartisan Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA) conference report today, after the House/Senate conference committee came to an agreement on major legislation authorizing the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to proceed on important water projects across the country. Historically, Congress has passed this legislation every two years, but no bill has been signed into law since 2007.

Murphy (FL-18) sent a formal request to U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx, urging the Department to address their constituents’ concerns with the pending All Aboard Florida (AAF) project before considering AAF’s request for a federal Railroad Rehabilitation & Improvement Financing (RRIF) loan.
Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-22) and Congressman Patrick Murphy (FL-18) met today with U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx to discuss issues facing South Florida, and the Treasure Coast, in regards to the pending All Aboard Florida (AAF) project. The rail proposal would link Miami and Orlando, with stops in between in West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale.
“I look forward to a review of the project, and its economic and quality of life impact,” said Frankel.
West Palm Beach, FL —Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-22) presented Palm Beach County with a $12.2 million reimbursement for Army Corps projects, including Ocean Ridge beach renourishment.
“Beaches mean much more to our community than just a place to get a suntan. Beaches protect our property, they are home to natural habitats, and they attract visitors from all over the world. This means millions of dollars in property taxes and tourist dollars to our region,” said Frankel.
Washington, DC – Today Congresswoman Lois Frankel was appointed to help negotiate the final Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA). Frankel will have a seat at the table as the House-Senate Conference Committee resolves differences between the House and Senate-passed WRRDA bills.
