With both the largest (Des Moines) and smallest (Beaconsfield) incorporated cities in the state of Iowa, the Third Congressional District reflects the full diversity of Iowa’s citizens and economy. The Third District showcases Iowa’s burgeoning place in service industries and small business, tech-savvy communities, and the state’s irreplaceable and dominant role in agriculture.
Congressman Latham’s Third District constituent services offices are bookended by Council Bluffs to the west and Des Moines to the east with Creston in-between.
The southwest Iowa district, drawn based on figures from the 2010 U.S. Census, contains 16 counties and borders the Missouri River and Nebraska to the west and Missouri to the south; Fremont County, Iowa’s most southwesterly county, borders both states.
