Committees and Caucuses

House Committee for Oversight and Government Reform

The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform has legislative jurisdiction over the District of Columbia, the government procurement process, federal personnel systems, the Postal Service and other matters. The primary responsibility of the committee is oversight of virtually everything government does – from national security to homeland security grants, from federal workforce policies to regulatory reform and reorganization authority, from information technology procurements at individual agencies to government-wide data security standards.

House Committee on Education and Workforce

The Education and the Workforce Committee oversees programs that affect hundreds of millions of Americans—from school teachers and small business owners to students and retirees. The committee will work during the 112th Congress to build on vital reforms we set in motion during the past decade — pressing for parental empowerment and local control in education; modernization of outdated federal rules that stifle liberty and innovation; and dependable access to health care, retirement security, and training for American workers.

House Committee for Agriculture

The House Committee on Agriculture has general jurisdiction over federal agriculture policy and oversight of agricultural related federal agencies. The committee recommends funding appropriations for various governmental agencies, programs, and activities.
