Spending Cuts and Debt

With a national debt over $16 trillion and counting, we have an obligation to reduce spending habits and put our nation back on track to fiscal health. I remain firmly committed to this goal.

I plan to work with my colleagues in the United States House of Representatives to reduce our deficit while simultaneously making government more efficient, effective, and responsive to the American people. Fiscal responsibility will also spur economic growth, put Americans back to work, and reduce the burden of debt on future generations.
