Barrow Statement on Syria Amendment

AUGUSTA – U.S. Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) today released the following statement on his vote in support of the Title 10 request from the Administration.

Congressman Barrow said:

“We can't ignore the threat posed by ISIS, but we have no business doing the Syrian people's fighting for them, either.  This is a plan to train and equip those who are fighting our enemy, but without authorizing any American boots on the ground.  This plan isn’t perfect, and it will require a lot of Congressional oversight to make sure the administration isn't over-committing American forces.  But it's the most bi-partisan plan for helping those who are fighting the worst terrorists in the world right now, and it’s important that we work together as a nation when it comes to the war on terror."
